Salmonella prevention starts with placing salmonella-free animals, in a Salmonella-free house and salmonella-free feed. On the other hand if there's already a presence of salmonella on farm, which and where are the risks factors for a re-contamination in a next cycle. In addition, good hygiene, in the broadest sense, is of utmost importance. Measures against the introduction of Salmonella also help against all kinds of other germs. Good hygiene starts with the basics: where is the company located and how is the company organized? With a good (sampling) protocol and good biosecurity one can safe (big) problems and money.
