''As a veterinary specialist at Royal GD, I am motivated to deliver the wright advice to farmers and vets who call on us for answers to their questions. There is a constant challenge to observe and interpret clinical signs and diagnostic and technical data from farms and to translate them into practical recommendations that are of value to our clients. Biography

Graduated as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, University of Utrecht, the Netherlands (1985), I received the degree of Specialist Swine Health and Disease (Royal Dutch Veterinary Association) in 2012. Former fulfilled positions: veterinary practitioner in a mixed animal practice, official veterinarian at the National Meat Hygiene Inspection in the Netherlands

Fields of expertise: 

• Respiratory diseases, with a focus on viral diseases as Influenza, PRRS and Pseudorabies
• Monitoring and disease surveillance
• Field applied research projects (field-enquiries, use of diagnostic tests)
• Consultancy and advisory service on swine health topics
